I work in an enterprise environment that has various web functions used for daily work functionality. As for updates and security vulnerabilities I need to keep a supported browser on their desktops at all times. I've been searching for a master list of current supported browsers from Mozilla and have only come up with one reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Mozilla_Firefox .

If there is any chance that I could get a complete list of all the versions and whether they are supported by Mozilla that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

There are only 2 currently updated and supported Released versions, Firefox 9.0.1 and Firefox 3.6.25. Support for the Firefox 3.6.x versions is likely to be discontinued in the first quarter of 2012.

  • There are also the Beta (final public testing) and Aurora (initial public testing) versions.
  • Firefox 10 (currently Beta), will replace Firefox 9.0.1 at the end of January 2012 and Firefox 11 (currently Aurora) will be transferred to Beta).
  • New version Releases occur every 6 weeks and the new Release version always replaces the prior version, and the prior version is abandoned as to security and stability updates. Near the same time, the Aurora version is moved to Beta and the Nightly (very experienced testers only) is moved to Aurora.
  • Current Release version download: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
  • Other supported version: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

For the webbrowser Firefox Mozilla supports the latest release version (currently Firefox 9) and the latest version of the Firefox 3.6 series (currently 3.6.25). All other versions (for example 4,5,6,7,8) are no longer supported and should not be used.
Januari 31 Firefox 10 will be released and at the same moment Firefox 9 will go EOL (end of life)
See https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases
Firefox 3.6 will be end of life on April 24th 2012 and be replaced by Firefox ESR.
