Are you speaking about Google Instant? (autocompletion) If yes, it's a feature of Google engine.

Hi - thanks I don't think that that is what I am talking about. I am talking about when I go to the Google search box (not URL box) having used my home icon (google is set up as search default) and if I double click in the box, anything I have searched for comes up in a list and there is no ability to highlight and delete or anything. I do not want those results to be there.

Cheers

Thanks yep did all that - turns out that I had to highlight each item individually and just hit delete until everything disappeared. This only happens on my laptop but not my desktop. Thanks for the assistance :)

You’re welcome! The next time around you do it, Firefox will retain the list of things you want to delete, so you don’t have to re-check.

Tried that, but doesn't work. The moment I put the cursor on a line in the drop down box it highlights itself. Hit delete but nothing happens. If I click the mouse on the highlighted item it puts it in the search box and a Google list comes up. I tried right click on mouse, but no delete option is available. Any other ideas?

Hi Ziggy, What I found is that if I just double click in the search box all results show in the drop down, without clicking ... highlight the first one and then hit the delete button on your keyboard, this seemed to clear it all :)

Thanks, but no luck on that. It's still all there. Double clicking has no effect. Haha Does Google not want you to delete our searches? I'm really stumped! This all seems ridiculous. I can delete my history on Firefox but can't seem to do a thing about Google. What gives? :(

hmm weird, I just found as long as the search result was highlighted in the drop down, you could hit delete on your keyboard. Lol worked for me. Does seem really random though aye that Google hasn't get a remove history setting, or maybe it does and we can't find it hahaha.

Shy, thanks for your effort, but maybe the version of firefox (9.0), isn't working for me. I just think Google is more interested in tracking people's searches than keeping searches private for individuals. Does anybody else out there have an answer to my problem? Help is appreciated.....
