New laptop. Nasty picture appeared as attachment on toolbar. Had to right-click to delete. How did it attach to toolbar and how do I stop it from occurring in future.

Gateway Laptop purchased from Best Buy one month old. Opened Firefox yesterday and saw a .jpg file attached under the search bar. Clicked and naked girl porno picture appeared (I am 58 yr-old female and did not visit any porno sites). Closed Firefox and reopened and still on toolbar, so I right-clicked and hit delete option. How did a dirty photo (or any photo for that matter) attach itself to my Firefox toolbar? Norton Internet Security software was preloaded and running. I am running Windows 7 operating system, using a Verizon aircard to access internet with Firefox browser.

Sorry to hear that! It sounds like malware or adware is the culprit. This article will help you clear it up.
