With the new Firefox I've lost my Gmail toolbar icon. All I have is the Google apps icon in the Google toolbar, which admittedly does give me a drop down list that includes a link to Gmail, but that's a pain compared to having an icon that itself takes me to to Gmail. There used to be a Gmail icon in the box of icons that you get when you click customize, but it isn't there anymore. How do I get my direct to Gmail icon back?

I already know that. I'm not talking about the Google toolbar itself. There's a Google Lite toolbar that works, which I've been using since after Firefox5. That one has a Google Links icon, which gives you a drop down list with 8 selections, including the ACTUAL Google Links, and that then gives you another drop down list with 12 selections, including, finally Gmail. Easier that typing the address into the location bar, but not much easier.

Up until Firefox 8, View/Toolbars/Customize would bring up a box of icons that you could drag onto your toolbar. The Gmail icon used to be in that box full of icons. That box now has a lot fewer icons in it than it did before, and the Gmail icon is one of the ones missing. I need to find a Gmail link that I can stick on my toobars for one click access.
