When putting a bookmark in the Toolbar they are so long that they take up too much space; how can they be renamed so they are only a few letters long?

You need to do that in the Details pane at the bottom right in the library after selecting the bookmark or folder in the right pane.
On a Mac you can't change that via the right-click context menu in the Bookmarks menu and the Bookmarks Toolbar.

You can make the names shorter in the right pane of the Bookmarks Manager (Library).

Thank you Cor-el for responding to my question.

While i could open the link in the right pane of the Bookmarks Manager, it did not allow me to change any of the text ... usually one would highlight the text and after a moment or two, the text would change into the edit mode allowing it to be modified. This was not true for the bookmark texts.

I am still trying to learn how to change the Bookmark text. All help appreciated.

Right click on the bookmark name, choose Properties and change the title on the Name line.

Thanks Seseid, that didn't work either as when i right click on the title of the Name line, i only get what you see in the attached ... no "Properties" to change anything.

Sigh, trying again ...

Thank you Cor-el ... that did it! Never noticed that Detail panel before now as i'm new to Firefox, with great appreciation and a bow :)
