Please help me with random crashes of Firefox 7.1.
Please help me with random crashes of Firefox 7.1. I'm not sophisticated enough to give you programming data. The ting is I'd like to continue to use this browser, but feel that I can't due to very frequent crashes...which causes loss of info and restarts w/ the report to Mozilla Firefox. By the way no results from anyone on that one. I have Win 7, an HP G-60, and communicate on FB, use You tube, Gmail, Yahoo. Not asking for much, eh! just want a fix, please.

Here's the first crash report on the list:

Have you tried the suggestions in Firefox crashes - Troubleshoot, prevent and get help fixing crashes starting with Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems? I would start with disabling extensions related to your crashes, like any Facebook extension, in the Firefox Addons -> Extensions list, then restart Firefrox.

Thank you for the reply. OK, I'll disable BFB, again . Previously it made no difference.
Again, bp-0728c595-9789-4a2d-b320-2dd1c211101510/15/20115:54 PM
The last crash report you posted above (3 times) dated 10/15/2011 5:54 PM is different than your earlier available crash reports, which all had to do with an extension (BFB - "Better Facebook") which you say you've disabled. Here is the crash report on your latest crash:
ID: 0728c595-9789-4a2d-b320-2dd1c2111015 Signature: js_ValueToBoolean(js::Value const&)

Have you had any other crashes since 10/15/2011 5:54 PM? Do you remember what you were doing when the crash occurred? That particular crash report links to a known bug having to do with logins to certain websites and will be fixed in an upcoming Firefox release. If you get any more crashes, please report them here with more information, or try the troubleshooting steps in the Firefox crashes - Troubleshoot, prevent and get help fixing crashes article.
Not quite resolved, I had these additional crashes, bp-17c22279-819e-4a88-8b58-fa846211101510/15/20116:56 PMbp-afd73520-df86-4f77-90c3-a4dd1211101510/15/20116:09 PMbp-609de88e-d1a3-496e-8374-a9be5211101510/15/20116:09 PM
On those three additional crashes,
1. bp-17c22279-819e-4a88-8b58-fa8462111015 10/15/2011 6:56 PM 2. bp-afd73520-df86-4f77-90c3-a4dd12111015 10/15/2011 6:09 PM 3. bp-609de88e-d1a3-496e-8374-a9be52111015 10/15/2011 6:09 PM
I found the three crash reports here:
ID: 17c22279-819e-4a88-8b58-fa8462111015 Signature: JSLinearString::mark(JSTracer*) Related bug: 686441 NEW Crash in JSLinearString::mark(JSTracer*) or JSString::mark(JSTracer*) mainly with Better Facebook

All three crash reports link bugs that mention Better Facebook, which you said you disabled so something else is the problem. Open the Firefox Help menu, click on Troubleshooting Information and in the about:support page that opens, click "copy all to clipboard" and paste everything here (see Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues for more info).
Also, could you restart in Firefox Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode and do normal browsing to your usual sites to see if you still get any crashes?

Faylond, your crash report is about a different problem (your related bug is 680927). You can look at the related bug which includes a workaround. If you need more help, ask a new question to start your own thread, which will contain more system details specific to you.
