Since upgrade bookmarks no longer let me save to a specific folder

My Firefox 6.02 will no longer let me save my bookmarks to the folders I created. It saves them all under the main folder. I used to be able to choose which folder I wanted them to go to or even create new ones. I uninstalled and reinstalled FireFox but this did not help. I have a lot of bookmarks and save a lot of things. Please help me fix this.
