I very often get this:

'The connection was interrupted Connection to the server was restored during the download page. The site may temporarily be down or busy. Please try again in a moment. If you can not open any page at all, check your computer network connection. If your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to connect to the web.'

And at the bottom there´s a button says, try again. Sometimes I've to try several times before the page is loaded. I haven't have had this problems before and it never come up in IE. I have broadband with 100Mb, maybe it's too fast? :-)

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

See:

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Hi Cor-el,

I checked the firewall (F-secure) and I didn't had Firefox in the program menu. After adding Firefox it seems to work! I will try this further but it seems to be the problem in my case. I felt a little bit insecure to do any changes in safe mode even though I checked it out.

Thanks a lot! Regards, Rogga

Hi Rogga,

I got this problem too - logging in to a HTTPS address. It looks like the address didn't support a secure connection, so Firefox blocked it with this message (which isn't very clear!) - worked fine when I switched the address to http://...
