Can someone please tell me why Firefox has been crashing, repeatedly, over the past two days? I've checked on the version I'm running, and it's up to date. Also, all add-ons + Windows versions are up to date. What do I do now?

I too am having the same problem since installing Firefox 6.0.1.

Here are the URLs for my crash reports:

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-45e2c5ee-8ef8-4f35-8bdd-a0cbd2110904 3.3 days since version was first installed.

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/e95dd59e-0040-40ca-a635-afe492110903 2.7 days since version was first installed.

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/820300b1-3f91-460f-a06a-e867c2110901 6.3 hours since version was first installed.

I didn't submit all of them, these are just the ones I submitted. I'll continue to submit from now one. Please find the problem with version 6.0.1 crashing. I really don't want to go back to Microsoft Explorer.

I have Constant Guard, as well. It was installed long before this new version of Firefox. I also have Norton Security Suite, and, Windows Firewall is Off.

I too have this problem. It has been crashing incessantly since I installed the newest version (6.0.1). The program almost never crashed before the latest update, and since then (in the last 2 days) the program has crashed 9 times (just 5 today!) It's getting very frustrating. I do have Constant Guard running but have had that for several months. It has not caused any problems in the past. If it's something related to Constant Guard or Norton, then something related to the 6.0.1 update is conflicting with Constant Guard, since that's when it started malfunctioning.

I've had over 150 crashes in the past 4 days! I too have Norton/Constant Guard. Is there anyway to go back to an earlier version of Firefox until they decide what the problem in and fix it?

Hello the-edmeister, is someone from the Mozilla Support Team working on this problem? I'm not exactly sure how this forum works, and who's monitoring it.

I uninstalled Comcast's Constant Guard (based on what I read from Bugzilla), and so far Firefox seems to be stable again. I believe the team is working with Comcast's supplier to address the problem. We'll see; it's only been about five minutes since I came back up on Firefox.

Here are more since my previous post:

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-7b06dcb4-1e13-4845-bf26-525ff2110904 3.8 days since version was first installed.

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/2beb1245-357d-4b7d-9e36-0f3be2110905 4.7 days since version was first installed.

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/ea02760b-3827-4de7-b7ac-9083d2110906 5.1 days since version was first installed.

I have not been on the Internet much since installing. I have a strong feeling that if I were using it more, I would have many more crashes to report.

Is anyone working on figuring out the problem and a solution? Just wondering.

I do NOT have Constant Guard, so I doubt that is the problem since I AM experiencing the problem. Apparently, Constant Guard is a Comcast thing. I don't have Comcast. I have Suddenlink as my Internet service. And, no, I do NOT use their security, which is McAfee. I do have Kaspersky. I will not disable Kaspersky. If Firefox can no longer work with Kaspersky, I'll have to go to something else. It's worked fine up with Kaspersky up until version 6.0.1.

I think I have resolved the problem, at least on my primary PC and our 2 laptops. I am running Windows 7 and Windows Vista Home Premium, both with the most current SPs and updates. Our Firefox is current, etc. I do run the Comcast Constant Guard and Norton Security on all 3 - have not found a way to install the free Norton without installing the Constant Guard - I just did the CG install with almost all the options disabled. I went into the Firefox AddOns-Extensions and DISABLED the CGPS Extension 1.0 along with some other AddOns and Extensions I really did not need. I have not had a Firefox crash in the last 2 days since making this change and was having 10+ a day prior since installing the CG/Norton. I posted a query to Comcast but did not rcv a reply. I installed the latest Firefox Update 6.0.2 that came out this morning and so far no problems yet. Hope this can help some of you having the same CG/Firefox crash issues. ps: my wife on her Mac has been smiling at me the whole way through :-)

Hmmm, but I have neither Constant Guard or Norton. I don't think that is the issue.

My other 6.0.1 crash:

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/a93687d2-0f69-4cde-b21e-246662110907 6.2 days since version was first installed

And, here are the 6.0.2 crashes:

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/d5f65230-4ad5-4304-9d4e-3ed762110908 14.1 hours since version was first installed.

Apparently these are still in the "queue," so I can't get to them:

Will Firefox do anything about this problem? How do we find the solution? Go to IE?

Firefox 6.01 and 6.02 totally useless I work with them constantly and they crash on 2 computers, one running WinXP and the other Vista. Neither is associated with Comcast or Norton Anti-Virus. Seldom can reach ANY url. Often crashes before the first key is pressed. I tried using Aurora but I use several Add-ons and virtually none work with Aurora. I think they have too much going on -- too many versions all at once (6, 7, 8, ...). I can understand some major changes in order to better facillitate operations with smart phones, but let's walk before entering the Kentucky Derby. Hope someone figures this out ASAP. I'm getting discouraged after a week of this. It is embarassing to have to post this with IE!!!
