In an earlier version of Firefox I loved a certain function: When I typed a word into the browser bar Firefox would mosltly start the web-page that belonged to that word. ('yahoo' would open http://yahoo.com) Now I only see the google results...

Do I have to change something in the preferences or is it completely gone? Thanks in advance!!

When I typed a word into the browser bar Firefox would usually start the web-page that belonged to that word.

Google "Browse by Name" (Automatically takes you to sites with a clear match, else performs a Google search) (default in Firefox 2)

Change the value of keyword.URL in your about:config to

http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=
