I will never understand how this machine behaves and why the matters addressed always requires some kind of technical approach that always misses the very matter at hand.

This time an obviously necessary function disappeared. The "back"- function has to be presented as it was, since the pages visited does not always allow backing. When giving feedback, the "submit"- button did not work.

I am exposed to large amounts of text that makes no real sense, as if the internet preceeded the playing of a real musical instrument, or as if the standards for typewriters suddenly had become obsolete.

The information given is either requiring the understanding of principles never really mentioned, or "user friendly" in a manner that suposes that I have no idea on how a "power on- off"- button works and the like.

Never heard of a "technical retard"? That's me, and you!

Greetings.

Now - Nobody is obligated to speak in your manner of speech. Language is to be universal and easily accessible at which point you take a personal preference approach.

Its much like getting food. If you can't approach your supplier in a manner that he understand you he can not be held accountable for your lack of communication skills. Yes he may decide to invest and market to you in your specific way but thats not an obligation.

As for the back button.

I suppose you mean the drop down menu. It is accessible with right-click on the back/forward button. If you want the old interface specifically you can get that back with this:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker/?src=api

And even if you don't mean that there are plenty of add-ons you could consider to achieve your goal whatever that may be.

Now, it is technically impossible for the default package to satisfy every user. That is why Firefox is open source. That is why its has a huge user base. That is why there are tremendous amounts of additional, optional functionality. So every user can tailor his Browser experience to satisfaction. It is the most versatile browser on the planet, instead of complaining that the default package doesn't suit your outlook of the world you might as well put a little effort and use what is already available to achieve that desired effect. And if you think the information and program base is somehow lacking. You can like millions of other join the project and collaborate, create, improve, help, share and create a new a better Firefox experience for everyone.

And there is no such thing as technical retards. There are mainly people who refuse to learn or conform to specific standards. You seem to be capable of speaking properly, so unless you have brain damage you are perfectly capable of delivering alternative phrasing that is more accessible to others if you wanted to.

If you ask a simple support question, and state your problem you may get a reply. The problem with your comment "Please try to maintain the norms that has been established since the 1940's."is that there was not an internet or internet browsers in the 1940's

more options

PLEASE DON'T DO THAT!!! The context explains everything. I'd rather delete your comment. It's confusing me with a purely intellectual deviation, and then I am blamed!

Why are they doing this? I have to go through things that has nothing to do with the very simple issue. A non- human entity appears as real persons, and is often very nice, but it is defect! Then I go mad when I can not relate properly whatever I do, because someone/ something has deliberately misinterpreted reality itself!

If you have a Firefox support question, please ask it directly - without that philosophical fluff, which can be offensive to other people. The one question you did ask can easily be interpreted as being offensive to users with a technical mindset - that sure as hell isn't going to get you an answer.

IT'S NOT NOT NOT OFFENSIVE!!! STOP ABUSING ME!!! BE SILENT IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND. PLEASE!

"This time an obviously necessary function disappeared. The "back"- function has to be presented as it was, since the pages visited does not always allow backing. When giving feedback, the "submit"- button did not work."

For example: Simply concentrate on this matter and ignore the other circumstances I mention. It's not your task to criticize and make judgement on slight cosmetical details.

A rational human being does not function like you suppose. You are a machine. I created you!

It's even trying to decide how I spell. I'M A PHILOLOGIST FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!

Further: I am not entirely disagreeing with you, but like "philosophical fluff" - That's an insult! "People" - What "people"?

Sternendiener,

It is my job! I happen to be a moderator of this forum, and I am issuing a warning to you - stop screaming with all CAPS, telling other posters in this thread to not post here, and using demeaning terminology. You are posting in a erudite manner, which is like "talking down" to other people and thus insulting, IMO. Please see the Rules & Guidelines for this forum before posting any additional comments here. Failure to comply with the rules or to this warning will result in this thread being locked.

Do not harass, insult, taunt, provoke, demean, or personally attack other forum members. Be friendly even if others are not.

The term "retard" is insulting or demeaning.

When you don't like a response, please use the Report Abuse link to the right of a posting that you have an issue with, instead of responding to a perceived slight by posting 2 or 3 additional responses.

I have. I might react a bit too strongly, but I feel that I am offended all the time. I need to know if I have missed something about how this works that makes me miss the point, and then everyone else misses the point too..

If you are an actual person, I apologize.

We are all actual people here as there are no automated posters.

Ok. Thanks. Onequestion: Sometimes about 10% solved issues means that you have to spend a lot of time in vain. Why?

And: If I press "solved- yes" the post is closed. But if I felt that this is a part solution? To be polite I press yes, and then I expect perhaps another angle from another person.

The misunderstanding is often relating to other than technicalities. I need to feel my way. The level confuses me as well. So advanced technique and so far from Academic experience. That is an over all consideration.

more options

The way the forum operates at present if you agree a post is marked as solved, and the selected answer displays adjacent to the op. Until recently you needed to sign in to do this, and was possibly one of the reasons for the low low proportion of 'solved' threads. Many threads contain solutions without being marked as solved or even helpful.

(You should now be signed in automatically in many cases /forums/contributors/707093#post-40879 )

If you press solved the thread is not closed it remains open to posting.

Another problem is that the process invoked for presenting potential answers as you initiate a question is effectively broken, and that must inevitably result in many more duplicated post that then receive no response.

"In 1801, Joseph Marie Jacquard made an improvement to the textile loom by introducing a series of punched paper cards as a template which allowed his loom to weave intricate patterns automatically. The resulting Jacquard loom was an important step in the development of computers because the use of punched cards to define woven patterns can be viewed as an early, albeit limited, form of programmability."

It seems that I am detecting some random factor that has been misplaced and any effort to explain this inside this already existing concept fails. There indeed was computers already in the 1940's and the earliest computer was the Chinese Acabus. (spelling?) But why is it resisting real human sense? Why are you all evading?

How do I find your employer? You should have more free time. Routines has to be changed so that this thing works as it is supposed to. While we are debating here people are dying and we fail to conceive that we are responsible. The entity has tortured me with information about human suffering since I was a child. Everything is prohibited even though I can prove that it is harmless and still we waste time letting a crime against humanity and God continue.

I'd rather have a final nuclear war.

Thank you. I will now press the "solved"-button. The error presents a random occurrence and I am partly responsible. I have missed many details as the modern internet was developed in the 80's.

There's still a slight problem but we will only go on and on... I'll let you in on a little secret: Sometimes this apparatus does exactly as I want without me having to do anything. It's like in science fiction. Sadly besides my own health problem there's still some random thing that is destructive, and that is not related to opinion or each individual's necessary personal rights.

If you can identify / describe your problem. I might be able to work it out.

Ok. I certainly hope so. For now only one example: What is a "browser"? I know what "browse through" means and I know what "eyebrows" are, but internet terminology sounds to me like street slang. Are there not terms better fitted for this level?

Of course we are free to speak as we wish, but something here does not seem right to me.

Perhaps a system like UNIX would be more correct? Language has degenerated since the 60's. But I have to spend so much time with something that is not my task.

Here's an appropriate website which can be used as a dictionary for computer and internet terminology.
http://www.netlingo.com/

If that doesn't meet your needs, there are many others listed in this Google search.
