I downloaded 5. firefox last night, I found it to be slower especially when it comes to forums my 3.6.19 firefox has a alot faster responce than the 5. now what I mean by responce is after I type up my answer to a statement someone else has made, it takes alot longer for the responce to get back to the other party.I never have a problem with that using 3.6.19 firefox you need to improve on that one I wouldn't use the 5. it weren't for you discontinueing the updates for 3.6.19 in august 2011. What's up with that

The current update for 3.6 is still 3.6.18 as 3.6.19 is not for some six weeks yet. Mozilla still has not decided on when they are going to stop security updates for 3.6 yet as it could be October or later. The 3.5 and 3.0 have been made EOL for a while now as of 3.5.19 (April 2011) and 3.0.19(March 2010).

As you appear to be using the rather old 3.0.19 from March 2010 according to your system details on right I believe you are referring to that and not the yet to exist 3.6.19.

James my version says 3.6.19 I downloaded it a long time ago back when it came out I tried 4. wasn't liking that then I tried 5. that's what I'm using now to type to you is 5. still in Beta? That could be the problem but, I did download it from your website last night and it states 5. I know this is not your fault so I'm not upset with you so don't take it that way but, I'm not happy with 5. I know you are in a browser war but, that is not going to help you if the product is making people unhappy. You say 3.6.18 what ever is old so why is it faster on page returns?

There is no Firefox 3.6.19 yet as it is not scheduled for some six weeks yet. See https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases#Other_releases since you do not believe me.

I did not say 3.6.18 is old but it is the current security update for 3.6 as it came out on June 21 which is when 5.0 came out also.

The current version for 3.6 is at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

If you are indeed using a newer version and not Firefox 3.0.19 then your useragent which is listed in the "More system details..." link on right of your post may be messed up by the SearchToolbar/1.2 extension tacking on it information.

You need to fix your UserAgent string in Firefox.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent

type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.
Filter = general.useragent.
Right-click the preferences that are bold, one line at a time, and select Reset.
Then restart Firefox

Sighs... I knew I should not have given that link as you were bound misunderstand it instead and panic when there is no need to.

Firefox 5.0 is basically partially a security update in place of 4.0.2 and could have been given a version of 4.1.x instead. It is still Firefox 4.0 but with some number of features and bug fixes that a minor point update would not normally get.

Firefox 5.0 is a much much more simpler update compared to say 3.6 to 4.0 or 3.5 to 3.6 or 3.0 to 3.5 were so no need to panic. Also Extensions compatibility from Firefox 5.0 and on will be much better and easier (at least for those hosted at addons.mozilla.org).

I don't see a .19 here. You definitely want 3.6.18:

slicker this is your useragent and it says three point zero point nineteen (3.0.19) and the date is March 14 2010 last year.

The 3.6.19 (three point six point nineteen) is not out yet.

Perhaps you are reading the number zero in as a number six for some reason.

If you really want to use Firefox 5.0 then just download that from www.mozilla.com or if you really want to use 3.6.18 then install that version.
