Firefox won't allow me to upgrade from the 1.5.0.6 version to the 3.5.2 version. What do I do?
My actual version is too old, on most websites they keep telling me to upgrade my browser. Ever since I downloaded the 3.5.2 version the problem is even worse: a window keeps opening to ask me to either continue or stop the script...
When I try to override the older version, a pop-up tells me that I don't have enough "privileges" for the newer version...???

Think it's as simple as uninstall prior antique, download new .exe with IE and install. Would suggest backing up bookmarks somehow. Do not uninstall FF profile. Why would you not have been updating? Update, at least occasionally.
Okay, I will try to uninstall the old version, but I have no idea what IE means nor what a FF profile is... I am new to Mac and I know zero about keeping a computer up to date. This one was given to me a year ago and I have had no problems whatsoever until I tried to update my Firefox a few weeks ago. Ever since then, I have problems on most websites and I can't vision a pps in my email without fiddling with the settings a bit. My photo library keeps disappearing out of my Iphoto app and I have never been able to open any e-mail attachment with a .wmv
Other than that, everything is peachy-keen and I will NEVER go back to a regular PC with windows! I love my Mac! I just know nothing about how to take care of it and keep it up to date :0(
Thank you for taking the time to answer me!
Firefox 3, 3.5 and 3.6 all require at least OS X 10.4, and Firefox 4 will require OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. If you try to install one of these on OS X 10.3.9 or earlier you will get an error message.
The last version that works on OS X 10.2 - 10.3.9 is Firefox 2.0.0.20.
You can download the Firefox 2.0.0.20 version via this link:
Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last release that runs on Mac OS X 10.2 and 10.3
Thank you for the links but I alreay have OS X 10.4.11
If I uninstall the older version to install the new one, will I be able to retrieve the older version if I still can't access the new one? Or should I try to install the 2.0.0.20 first before moving up to the 3.5.2?
Jeez! I may end up at the Mac store after all!!!
