I've just intalled the Firefox 3.6.8 and try to activate the tool for private navegation, but I couldn't do it because it is un-available (just a grey tag) My problem is that always I've downloaded one file, picture or video, it appears in a screen, added to others I've downloaded before, and this is no good because my computer is used by three different people. How to stop that download history screen for ever?

Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember download history"

You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing", possibly grayed
See Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • [X] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session" will have a check-mark if you are in Private Browsing mode.
