Did you try the add-on compatibility reporter? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003/

Firefox 4.0 beta 1 installs to a separate directory, so unless you uninstalled it, your previous Firefox install should be there. Just find it in the start menu and run it, allowing it to set itself back as the default browser.

If you did uninstall it, just install it again: Installing Firefox.

You can but don't have to uninstall 4.0 via Add/Remove Programs

4.0 will not uninstall also it says 3.66 and 401.are not compatable
