Somehow I've lost my firefox homepage and all my book marks on my laptop. OS isWin 7 Home Premium I've tried to restore them via my PC Win XP OS to USB flash and it won't fix it. I tried removing firefox and re-installing but a very different home page shows and it does not match old at all.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

5/7/2010

User Agent

Run %AppData% (with the %s) and go into Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. Check how many folders there are (they usually have weird names). If there's only one, I can't help you, but if there's more than one, do this:

- copy your Firefox shortcut (or create a new one) into somewhere else (doesn't matter where) - right click this new shortcut and go into Properties - under the tab shortcut add " -profilemanager" in the field "Target". Add what's inside the commas, AFTER the commas that are there. There result should be something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -profilemanager

- run that shortuct - a profile manager will appear. Select a different profile to see if you get your old bookmarks and settings back. Try it again with a different one until you've tried them all. - when you find your profile, simple close firefox, delete the shortcut you created (or keep it, it doesn't matter) and run firefox as usual

Hopefully this will help.

You may need to create a new profile if there are less profiles than there are folders inside %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profile
