Should be doable - did you try TB menu > Help > About Thunderbird?

Yes, I did look at help. Nothing negative there, but I'm so far behind, so that was the reason for my question. I've clicked update in the past many times.
It's unclear whether you updated or not. If not, you can overwrite 128 with 140 using the installer at https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/.
I've updated and things look good. Thank you for your advice.
