It makes sense that you might want your signature text to change depending on who you are communicating with (employer, business, friend, etc).

In Outlook you can enter several signature texts, identified by a name. I sure would like to have that in Thunderbird!

Another possibility would be to circulate among several signature texts, just to "keep it fresh".

- click to 'account settings' pane and click the account name in left sidebar - now, on right side look for the 'Manage Identities' button at bottom of screen - click that and you can enter a different signature and name - now, when you're composing a message, there will be a dropdown menu in the FROM row, allowing you to select optional sigs.

- click to 'account settings' pane and click the account name in left sidebar - now, on right side look for the 'Manage Identities' button at bottom of screen - click that and you can enter a different signature and name - now, when you're composing a message, there will be a dropdown menu in the FROM row, allowing you to select optional sigs.

thank you very much. this is actually a very hidden setting. It's not obvious at all. the setting is hidden very deeply and unobviously. but the main thing is that it worked. thank you!
