Hi Bob, timing is critical here. How long was Firefox running on the new computer before the change was synchronized over? Could you check the Restore menu described in the following article:

Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

For any future donations, first disconnect the Firefox from your account so that your clean-up does not sync.
