Firefoz Home / New Tab Is Static; can't save websites or most recent

Previously, recent websites, and pinned websites would show on the Firefox Home / New Tab page. Now, it is completely blank, except for three rows of blank boxes, which are unresponsive, a search entry, which works, and a weather app with menu.

I've searched and searched for a solution, find limited cases previously, but no solutions.
