I read there is a need to immediately update Firefox. I down;loaded it, but got a message that a newer version exists...? Also, it shows my latest update was 11/24. I use auto updates and recall one much more recently.(in fact I found the new tabs annoying) I am perplexed.

Hi, where did you hear that?

The Firefox you used to post said it is version 136, which is this month's release. Could you double-check on the Troubleshooting Information page: Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues. The first section on that page should have your precise version number -- 136.0 or 136.0.1 or something else.

If you got an email from Mozilla about updating:

Maybe an older version is connected to your Mozilla account. You can check what is connected here:

https://accounts.firefox.com/settings#connected-services

(Strangely, mine is listed as 135 instead of 136. Not sure why, but either one is new enough to avoid the problem coming tomorrow.)
