I have the latest update of Firefox using win 10 with Firefox default browser. I recently accessed my Microsoft account and found most of my bookmarks there. I deleted them, rebooted, bookmarks were still in Firefox. Why is my personal choices saved to my Microsoft account.

You should ask Microsoft that question as Firefox browser user forum has no access to anything Microsoft accounts.
