How can I get rid of the little drop downs on tabs in Toolbar and previews on tabs in Taskbar?

Just purchased a new desktop that came with Windows 11 pro installed. I don't like it. Also having to start from scratch is annoying having to redo all the fixes to Firefox I did on the old computer anyhow.

The attached shows the Toolbar drop downs and what I have done to get rid of them of course the "Show an image preview when you hover on a tab" does just that but the description box (see attached) is still there.

OK I have Firefox 134.0.1 (64-bit) as mentioned Windows 11 pro Any help please and please keep in mind I don't understand a lot of computer speak I am 69yo but can do a bit.

Enter about:config in the address bar and switch browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled = false.

Thanks for the reply TyDraniu,

I have tried that and yes it gets rid of the almost full screen, only joking, preview the one where it shows a shot of whats on the page. At least I think it did or it could be just the unchecking of the "show preview in settings" that did the trick and got rid on the large preview, as in attached.

But I was wondering if I can go further and stop the small preview as in the first attached screenshot it's still there. The more I use it the more I am getting use to it so not that worried now but if there is a fix I will still do it.

Regards PhillStroud.

That's strange, it should disable all the preview, including the title. Did you follow the instructions?

TyDraniu

I really do appreciate your help and as you can see by my screenshots I followed your instructions.

1st shot opening about:config in the address bar

2nd switch browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled = false (copied & pasted into the search bar) "switch browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled"

3rd just in case browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled = false (copied & pasted into the search bar) "browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled"

4th end result still there.

As mentioned early I am getting use to it.

Thanks PhillStroud.

You pasted additional "switch" word for the first time. But now it looks like it used to be since version 0.9
