According the the Release Notes the Copy Link Without Site Tracking option is greyed-out if there's no tracking information in it anyway.
Just to expand on that:
Firefox has a list of known tracking parameters that it can remove. When the feature is grayed, Firefox doesn't see any of those known parameters.
But Firefox can't rule out that the link has some new or different parameter for tracking. It's a good idea to see what is after the ? or # -- does anything look like your email address, account name, or a personal ID number? If so, you probably want to delete it before sharing the link.
It is grayed out on every URL for me, and never was before. Also, why is there a youtube browser option - with a bright green dot - in that drop down now, while on youtube? It's not there in Chrome. Has Mozilla made some kind of deal with Google again? Just curious.
That's odd as it's working for me. See screenshot below from e-Bay.
As for the Youtube thing I haven't seen that either.
Are you using a Firefox beta or a Nightly build?

This one?
When you right-click on the URL of the current page in the address bar, Firefox will show the option to add a search engine for the site if the page has a properly formatted <link> tag in the page header code. This is called autodiscovery. Any site can use that, there's no special arrangement needed with Mozilla.
Note: if you go ahead and add the site's search engine, then the menu item will disappear, since there's no need to add it again and again.
By the way, here is an example of a URL that contains known tracking parameters. You should have the option to "Copy Link Without Site Tracking" on this one (here, or in address bar, "Copy Without Site Tracking"):
If the menu item is still grayed on that one, hmm, maybe the feature got turned off somehow?
jscher2000 - Thank you. The reddit link you posted has that option, yes. I went to ebay after seeing pillenwerfer's image and it now works for me there. So I started looking at sites that I'm sure are heavy trackers and yes, there it was. It's still grayed out on youtube, which surprises the heck out of me. I'm on there daily, copying links to my favorite videos/keeping in folders (🙄, bear with me, different generation) because I never log in and save anything there. Can it be possible youtube isn't tracking people as of four days ago? I actually uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox thinking it might have been having a problem. Thanks also for replying in non-technical language. One of the reasons I don't ask questions in forums like this is the answers are often very technical and I'm not.

I think they track on the Sharing links. Others, I don't know. If you are looking at a simple URL with just the "?v=xyzyzyzy" at the end, that can't be tracked back to you.
Thanks so much - that's good to know. : )
