It looks like it was first proposed as a way to bypass the 10k limit on number of messages downloaded per folder, but now the limit is 100k per folder.

I started with just imap.aol.com and let it all load. Then I changed it to export.imap.aol.com and the rest of the emails downloaded. Today, my inbox started to download again from 0 of xxx. Do you know why it started from 0?
