I am assisting friends. I am in the UK and they are in Gibraltar so am using TeamViewer. All the info relates to their PC. Using Thunderbird version 102.7.1 (32-bit). Only part of attached jpgs are displayed whether inline or when opening the file - e.g. 1.2mb of a 2.4 mb jpg or 1.3 of a 3.3 mb jpg. JPGs of 189 kb and 643 kb work fine. Clearing the cache solves the problem. However after restarting Thunderbird the problem reappears.

Have tried the following with no success: Creating a new profile Uninstalling Thunderbird Installing Thunderbird 64-bit Setting cache to 0 Setting cache to 50 They have reverted to the 32-bit version for the time being.

Strangely when accessing the imap account on my PC there are no problems.

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Try this: open Config. editor from Settings/General, toggle the preference mail.server.default.fetch_by_chunks to false, restart TB, and see if attachments download completely.

Thank you sfhowes for your quick response. I will try this out when I next get access to their PC and report back.

Thank you again sfhowes - updating the chunks preference to disable worked a treat. I would never have found that in a million years so, again, many thanks.

I made the change in the Configuration Editor, restarted, and there was no change. I tried both displaying the PDF in a TB tab, and downloading it to my desktop and then opening with Preview. When I did this, Preview gave me the same error message as before.

Did you re-download the message? A download can be forced by opening the message source (Ctrl+U).

Yes, last night in my sleep I had that Duh! moment, realizing that I needed to test with a newly downloaded file. Tried it just now and it worked fine, opening the Preview app and displaying the PDF. One quick question, where in the settings can I choose to have the PDF open in a TB tab, rather than a application?

Settings/General/Files & Attachments, click the Action drop-down for pdf, 'Preview in TB'.
