Good Afternoon All!! I love my Thunderbird, thank-you!! I have tried a couple of times to set-up Thunderbird on my laptop a couple of times and it isn't working. I want to keep it where it is, but also want to access it from my laptop. The IMAP settings are the same as my original account but, I get a message "unable to log in at server, probably wrong configuration, user name or password. Tried also, using POP3, and get the same message. I just noticed I got a message in my e-mail as I'm writing you saying: Your Firefox account was used to sign in Chrome on Windows 10 Minneapolis, MN, United States (estimated) IP address: 24.131.158.200 Tuesday, Oct 4, 2022 2:38:21 PM (CDT) Not you? Change your password. I'm not sure what to do with this? I apologize, I'm not computer savvy :( Your help is greatly appreciated!! Sandy Schnabel

It sounds like you have Thunderbird running on another computer and want the same setting on laptop. To assist you, we need to see settings on old and on new. There is likely a small error you are doing in setting up the second one. But here's a tip: When setting up a new account, do NOT enter password. Let Thunderbird confirm the connection first. Once done, then enter the password. Doing the setup that way has solved many similar problems. And if you prefer IMAP, then keep it. Switching to POP will only cause future problems in that the two computers will not be in sync. Try my tip and then report back.

Hello David, I'm back. I'm sorry it didn't work. I left out the pw and the configuration was found, I entered the pw and got the same note about unable to log in at server, etc... Is there something we could try to fix it? Your help is greatly appreciated!! Sandy

I'm sorry, an additional question, I created a pw on this Mozilla questions page, does this new pw change the password on my Thunderbird e-mail account? Thought I'd better make sure on that.  :)

Hello, Sandy, The web password for the forum is just for the forum. Nothing to worry about. Can you post a screenshot of your server setup?
