Today Thunderbird auto updated to 102.2.0 (32-bit) on Win7 64bit, have been using Thunderbird for many years.

When you search in the email for something theresults are show as usual and you might have 100 hits Then normal if you click the "Show result as list" you will have a list with..... 100 item where it's fast to pick the one you need.

After today update the "Show results as list" are empty except if the a mail in from today.

Is this kind of a new settings I will need to tweek to see all the results as list or is it a bug?

Please advise

I have this problem, too, but the list is not always empty, though. Sometimes there is one item (when the search had identified several), and sometimes there are many (potentially all).

I did get an answer somewhere else. It's a DB error. Close TB Find "global-messages-db.sqlite" and then make a copy for backup Delete the "global-messages-db.sqlite"

Open TB, TB will now rebuild the "global-messages-db.sqlite", for me it took around 1 hour and then it all worked as before

Hope it works for you

Windows 10 64-bit Was auto updated to 102.3.3 Very few results showing in search Shut down TB and deleted global-messages-db.sqlite Note this file was 857 MB (not suprising, lots of emails) Restarted TB. global-messages-db.sqlite recreated size 1216 kb It is not growing in size Activity manager does not indicate that it is rebuilding it.

Update:

I think I have fixed the problem.

All steps are listed, however the downgrade might not have been needed...

What fixed it, and may have worked without the downgrade: -> On Inbox of accounting missing new messages in global search and did right click: properties: Repair folder. Messages started getting added to the database

Next time I get around to installing the newest patch level, if it happens again, and the fix works I will updated this post

Thanks so much, will give this a go over the weekend. Very much appreciated. A deep search of my entire computer didn't find it.

OK, found and deleted the file--then restarted Tbird, and it started right up. Now search does not work AT ALL. How to force a re-indexing? Thanks!
