I have only recently started using Thunderbird and am trying to get used to how it works. One of the most annoying aspects is the notification sound when an email arrives. I don't have an issue with the notification, just the sound, as it is intrusive on Zoom meetings, etc.

I have searched around the forum for the answer and have found similar questions which direct the individual to the menu option or Tools menu, and then "options". Unfortunately, I don't an options selection in either location.

Please help!

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

It depends on your OS. I use windows and in ver 102, it is tools>settings>general. Under ver 91, it was tools>preferences>general. If Linux, it may be under Edit. Whatever, it's the same page where default font is selected, cache settings, auto update, and more.

Hi David Thanks for getting back to me.

I am running Windows 10 Home, version 21H2

I found it under tools>preferences>general, although the "general" tab is represented by a cog symbol, not a label, as I have the window limited in size!

All sorted now. Thanks for your help.
