Hello,

Whenever I use Firefox, I end up seeing popups (necessary for school) and would like to show them as tabs so I can merge them into other windows. I have tried the solutions given in: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1080255 and nothing seemed to work. Is there another way to make sure that popup windows cannot hide the toolbar and show tabs?

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

I think there are two possibilities:

(1) Force all popup windows into tabs

That would be (B) in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1080255#answer-772963

(2) Customize pop-up windows to have more toolbar controls

This is not a built-in feature any more, it requires using custom style rules in a userChrome.css file. For example:

https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1288277

(That has rules for both the Tabs bar and the main toolbar, so you might not need all of the code)

Hey, Thank you so much for responding, but I had done that for my particular website. It is listed as an exception as a matter of fact. Is there any other things which I should check?

Pop-up windows are special windows that do not have a tab bar. If you would open another tab in such a window then this tab will be opened in the original window. You would have to divert the pop-up to a tab in this window instead of opening a pop-up window. to get more control.

You can set this via prefs on the about:config page.
