my desktop computer keeps freezing. after shuting firefox and reopening it, it comes up with 'an old version of firefox is running in the background. firefox needs to close this to continue'. How do I delete an old version please I am running windows 7, 64 bit pro

With Windows 7 support ended the latest browser might not install because Windows 7 lack the security updates to run the latest Browser. Some software will not install if the OS is out if date. And you can only install the last browser that work for that OS and it might not be the latest firefox. Otherwise you have to uninstall from the control panel.
