How does one set a primary password on ff for android

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

This is a stupid design decision. A similar question (and answer) stated that the reason there is no Primary Password for FF Android was because users have to login to their devices. Windows and Mac (and Linux) users also have to login to their devices, and can choose to do so with no password. Android (and iPhone) users can choose to login with a simple swipe. FFneeds to be proactive with security like you used to be...and sometimes that means protecting users from themselves. It could also be that I unlock my phone to use it, but allow a friend to borrow my phone for a minute....that doesn't mean I want them to be able to login to any of my sites with a saved password.

This decision forces users to look for a 3rd party password management program, which may not be cross-platform compatible, and in the case of the App/Play Stores might actually be malware.

Please bring back the need to enter your primary password before password autofill on firefox for android. The fact that you need to unlock your phone before you can access firefox is not sufficient to mean we no longer need the primary password option.

I no longer use Firefox on Android be cause it stop supporting Primary Password or a security method that is independant of the phone login passwords/PINs/fingerprints. Firefox on Android was a good choice until they decided to remove Primary Password.

The primary password feature is great on the desktop version of Firefox. It' s a bummer not to have it on Android/iOS! I don't trust third party password managers (Firefox is the only browser I trust with my logins). I am forced to encrypt Firefox on my android device. As annoying it is to enter a password every time I want to use my browser, it is sadly the only solution I have come up with.
