I am using Thunderbird as my email account. When I try to download emails the "Add Security Exception window pops up This window has the correct Certificate and if I click "Get Certificate" and then "Confirm Security Exceptions" nothing happens. If I restart the computer I still don't get access to my incoming mail. Thunderbird has worked fine for years without a problem. I have also downloaded the "Upgrade " but still no result. Also reported the problem to my internet provider but they were unable tyo help and advised me to contact Mozilla. I only have a basic knowledge of computers so grateful for any help.

What Server Settings are you using ?

  • menu app icon > Help > More TRoublshooting Information
  • Scroll down to 'Mail and News Accounts' section
  • Copy all info and paste it into this forum question.

RE pop up click on 'View' to see contents and expiry date - post an image of it.

If all Server Settings are correct and nothing appears wrong with certificate, then there is an add permanent exception button in the dialog which you can use. It is possible the Anti-Virus program is causing the pop up.
