I have 10 tabs that open on startup. The master password prompts comes up before all ten tabs are loaded. When I enter master password while tabs are loading I get a reject that password is wrong. I watch and each keystroke does display the astrick as I type in the password field. If I just wait until all tabs are loaded and enter password all is well, no rejected password. Computer is a Dell with Intel Core I5 3.20 GHz 8GB memory 4 processors. Now in Firefox 93, but at has done this for many past releases and WIndows 10 Pro. It don't really bother me since I put up with it for a long time, but have wondered if anyone else has seen this and if there is a setting I have wrong. Maybe on a rare occasion I won't get a reject while tabs are loading.

You can possibly opt to load the tabs on demand (i.e. you need to focus each tab) via the about:config page. You can type/paste on_demand in the filter/search bar at the top of the about:config page.

  • browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand = true
  • browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand = true

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
