Bookmarks slow to open on first load
When I start Firefox for the first time, and click Bookmarks, it takes a little while to respond and populate the bookmarks list.
I've created a video to show the problem. You'll see that when I clicked Bookmarks, it becomes unresponsive for a sec or so before slowly populating the list.
I'm not sure when it started, but it was recently. What can I try to troubleshoot it? It behaves the same way in Firefox Safe Mode.

That's a downsize of lazy loading. It takes some time for the first time, especially when you have a lot of bookmarks.
You can go to about:support and press the Integrity check button in the Places database section. It will produce a log, you can paste it here to troubleshoot it.
Thank you. This is the log:

Maybe cleanup your bookmarks and remove some older since you appear to have quite a few.
- Table moz_bookmarks has 18771 records
You also have a lot of historyvisits, so it looks that you like to keep a lot of bookmarks and history and that can come with some cost.
- Table moz_historyvisits has 132271 records
Any good bookmark cleanup extensions around? I'm sure there are quite a few obsolete ones, but checking 18771 manually would take forever :)
Historyvisits? That's a new one to me. I do clear the recent history every now and then.
I'm considering disabling lazy loading.

Maybe one of these:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmarks-clean-up/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmark-dupes/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmarks-organizer/
Ok, I found the cause. I'm using a Livemarks replacement extension, which bookmarked a lot of the feeds. I've disabled it now, as I really don't need 18,000+ bookmarks!
Thanks for all your help.
Oh crap. Try out Brief or Feedbro.
