filtering what shows up on my Firefox home page

Hello, Does anyone know how I can customize what shows up on my Firefox home page? I would like to block certain content. I have attached an image.

Or is there a way that I can block certain web pages altogether? If they never showed up I would be happy. Thank you,

Hello Seburo, Thank you for the link. Let me refine my question by adding some background. I am currently pummeled with political OpEd from both the right and left. I want to block these sites from coming through at all.

Is it possible to block sites from even showing up on different home pages? I have the problem with Firefox, Google, Yahoo, and the list goes on. If you could help with this I would be very grateful. Thank you,

Each of these sites works differently.

For the built-in Firefox Home page, if you want to stop seeing the section with articles popular with Pocket users, please refer to Customize your New Tab page to hide or display content. If you want to remove shortcuts to sites you have no intention of visiting, refer to the support article Seburo linked to earlier.

For Google, is this a problem with search results, or Google news, or Gmail, or ?? Maybe you can find an add-on to filter out unwanted content. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/

For Yahoo, same idea. There isn't a feature built-in to Firefox to modify the contents of Yahoo pages, but maybe you can find an add-on for that.
