How to better CONTROL the 'AUTOMATED' Firefox Update/s notifications ...?

Is it possible to more specifically control the FIREFOX AUTOMATIC 'UPDATES' notifications than just to select 'NOT NOW' which is offered by the Firefox BUT THEN - this Update Notification/s are being sent 100-1000 (or more times!) again every FEW MINUTES after REQUESTING IT from Firefox ...? This is such an UNNECESSARY and completely AVOIDABLE NUISANCE, which is strongly interfering with many PC-users work and their productivity efforts - for instance during frequent music-recordings, and perhaps many other similar and PC-System-critical applications being interfered by these 'AUTOMATIC UPDATES' ... Any effective advice and help would be greatly appreciated ...! Tony H.
