Hi, I have a dual boot PC running Cinnamon mint and Windows 10, from separate drives. The Linux version won't download my emails, saying there is a security exception, and that the certificate belongs to another site. I have ticked the store exception box, and this makes no difference. It did download some emails, when I first set it up, but only to 24 August 2020. The Windows installation works fine, with identical settings. Help please. Thanks Robert. PS if I click the confirm exception button, it disconnects from the server.

Hi christ1, by changing settings, I just mean the server name, the port, and the encryption settings, as it appears every system I have uses different settings. Anyway, the good news is that having another fiddle this evening, I have managed to get it working, hurrah. Thanks once again for your help, Robert.

Hi christ1, I don't get what I would think is an error message, just the dialogue box saying the cetificate belongs to another site. after changing various server settings yesterday, I am now connecting to the server, buy it gets stuck, trying to download the first message, and times out. on reflection, I think it is a problem with my settings, rather than Thunderbird of Linux, thank you for your time. Robert.

That's usually a bad idea, and I'd suggest you reverse those changes.
