I've used Thunderbird for a few years both on my desktop and laptop. Recently when opening the programme it gets stuck on the inbox of one of my accounts and I cannot move to any other window. I momentarily see a glimpse of the normal opening window with the listings down the left hand side, but that's all. I can find no way of moving away from this one fixed window. This is only happening on my desktop; the programme opens normally on my laptop.

I've tried uninstalling, turning off the pc, turning it back on and then re-installing, but this makes no difference.

Any advice would be most welcome

The Folder Pane is hidden in your picture. Can you enable it by clicking the 3-bar menu icon at the upper right, Customize, Layout?

Does it launch properly in safe mode (hold Shift when launching TB)? If it does, try launching again in safe mode, and at the prompt 'Reset toolbars & controls', 'Make changes & restart'.

Sorry, should have said that I've tried opening in Safe Mode and it makes no difference

That's done it! Can't believe how easy that was. Still no idea why it changed from the 'normal' view. Never even thought about going into customize - they say you live and learn and I most certainly have, thanks to you.

Much obliged.
