I am using Thunderbird connection with g-mail system of Tokyo Univ. However, since March 10th, I can not connect with my mail and showed " can not connect with imap.gmail.com server fs88230122@g.ecc.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp and input my password". Unfortunately, I forget my PW. How can I do? And also in near future I wish to change exting my Thunderbird connection to another imap due to my tarnsfer. How can I do to change my Thunderbird? It would be appreciated if you could instruct me kindly how can I solve this problem. Regards Fumiaki Shono

If you've forgotten your password, it can only be reset or recovered through the gmail website, probably by sending the instructions to the alternate address that is registered with the Google account. Once you have a confirmed, working password, change the authentication method for the incoming and outgoing gmail servers in TB to OAuth2, remove the passwords from Saved Passwords in Options, allow cookies in TB Options/Privacy & Security, restart TB, enter the account password in the OAuth window when prompted.

Not sure I understand the 2nd question, but if you get a new account with another institution, simply add it to TB starting from File/New/Existing Mail Account.
