Yahoo pop mail stopped working last week

I use Windows 7 ultimate and Thunderbird. I have 2 accounts from yahoo mail that I am using many many years by now. And many years I was able to download them to Thunderbird on my desktop. The one email account worked until February 8 and the second until February 10 this year. Then it stopped. Could not more download and not more answer emails. When I choose to Get Messages, on the bottom left it shows "Host contacted, sending login information ... ", and this stays for a good while, then I get an error message: "Sending of password for user xxxxxxxx did not succeed. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded: Server error. Please try again later". And this is repeating since 8 of February. Any idea what is happening? Or what I can do to have my yahoo back working with Thunderbird?

What is the authentication method on the incoming and outgoing servers, in Tools/Account Settings?

And my Thunderbird version is 78.7.1 - 64 bits.

Change the authentication to OAuth2 for both servers, remove the passwords from Options/Privacy & Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, check that cookies are allowed in Privacy & Security, restart TB, enter the account password in the OAuth browser window when prompted.

Thankyou. This worked to download my emails. Then I tried to send out an email, after saying "Connected to smtp.mail.yahoo.com" for a minute, came the error message: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMPT) smtp.maill.yahoo.com was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again."

Thank you, was able to download my emails, but when I wanted to send an email, it failed.

What do you have for the outgoing server? It should be smtp.mail.yahoo.com on 465, SSL/TLS, OAuth2 authentication, User Name = email address. You should have 2 smtp servers, one for each account, with the same settings except different User Names, and each account must be set to send on the corresponding smtp. Select an account in the left pane of Account Settings, then choose the correct smtp in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) menu in the right pane.

If the incoming server is pop.mail.yahoo.com, use the above smtp instead of smtp.mail.yahoo.com.br.

In other words, there is no OAuth2 on the list for smtp

OAuth2 doesn't appear because it's not supported for smtp.mail.yahoo.com.br. You must change it to smtp.mail.yahoo.com.

For the second email account i used the same settings: SSL/TLS and OAuth2

ok, changed to smtp.mail.yahoo.com and it is downloading and I could also send. The other account with same settings not working yet.
