Thunderbird blocks text substitution

I use a windows app called Shortkeys. It is a text substitution program that will replace text entered with a previously created template. I use it for passwords, for example "#mypw" will replace the text with the password I have previously entered. Thunderbird blocks the replacement. This started some months ago with the update to 78.7.1 (32-bit) which is my current version. Outlook email does not replicate this, nor does any other application. Workaround: I can use the shortkey on any document/text file and copy it into Thunderbird, with limitation. How to I allow Thunderbird to replace text, again?

To clarify, I am not asking Thunderbird to do anything accept not to block text coming in from another windows app, Shortkeys. When Shortkeys is triggered it will replace what I had typed with text I previously set.

Somebody that is familiar with TB's security must surely know why TB prevents this replacement.

Not necessarily, most of the security stuff is actually simply copied from Firefox as a part of the mozilla platform on which Thunderbird is built.

Personally I would be more inclined to say that the user interface elements are changing from XUL to XHTML and that your shortcut tool does not work wit xHTML elements. What do the folks selling the tool suggest is the problem?
