Hi, after resetting my Firefox browser, every time I try to print something, I get this popup which is different than it used to be. In addition, the Color Mode dropdown doesn't work, as it will only print in color instead of selecting black & white. I would like to go back to the older popup which is shown in second image which works correctly and has more options.

Enter about:config in the URL bar and set the following preferences:

  • print.use_simplify_page = true
  • print.tab_modal.enabled = false

Also it would be very helpful if you can you tell us your macOS version and the make and model number of your printer? This issue seems to be something that's happening for some Mac users with certain printers, but we've not narrowed down which printers yet.

There is info about the OS available in the system details next to the question and in this case the user also provided troubleshooting information from about:support.

@Herman, regarding the issue you're having with prints always being in color, would you be able to provide the printer's PPD files? You can find these by opening the folder `/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/` and looking for any files with your printer model number in the name. If you can go to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1676191 and use the "Attach New File" button to attach those (you'll need to create an account there to do that) that would be a great help. We should hopefully also be able to give you a temporary workaround using the information in those files until we get a Firefox update out. Let me know if you have any problems with any of that.
