
Advanced Tracking Protection
Since the advent of Advanced Tracking Protection, I cannot reach many safe connections. There has to be a way to OK or allow certain connections.
One example is: Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.
"We can’t connect to the server at links.e.theatlantic.com.
If that address is correct, here are three other things you can try:
Try again later. Check your network connection. If you are connected but behind a firewall, check that Firefox has permission to access the Web."

I get that page but all it contains when I do is an "Anti-Spam and Privacy Statement". Clicking on the shield in the url-bar tells me that "Enhanced Tracking Protection is ON". Clicking on the padlock tells me "Connection not secure" (it being an 'http' domain). On the Privacy and Security page in Options/Preferences there is a "Manage Exceptions" button for Enhanced Tracking Protection. You could check your other settings, particularly the HTTPS-only section at the bottom of that page.
You can check the connection settings.
- Options/Preferences -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
