corrupted/broken bookmarks

I need help. I have a number of old bookmark files saved and I am not able to get the saved files to load. I try to load these and they come up as text. no active or clickable links. I really need to get this issue fixed as I am trying to locate certain things and don't recall where I originally located them online. Can someone maybe call me and see if they can help me. I will explain in further detail then. Thank you so much.

What is the extension of those files? Try loading them into a Word type program.

What kind of backup are these files ?

A JSON backup starts with: {"title":"","id":1,"dateAdded": An HTML backup starts with: <!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1>

These files are of the .JSON file types. How do i load them into a word doc?

Open the Word program. Then have it load that file. Or, with Word open, move the file into the Word window. Either should open the JSON file.

Note: If you want to save anything, I advise you to save it to a different file name.

Nothing has fixed the issue. I think the bookmarks got screwed up when I had a crappy acer laptop. Word opens it but only as a text file. no websites are appearing in blue.

You can still copy the links to the browser. See if you open the file in Firefox.

When i load the files, it brinkgs up a text file. no active or clickable links. can you maybe give me a call and i will explain further. or can i send you my files, so you can see what is happening.

I have a tool to convert Firefox bookmark backups in the .json format to a page of clickable links (HTML page). You then can open that in a web browser and copy/paste to Word, or open it directly into Word since Word reads HTML files.

Does that work?
