I updated my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10 a few days ago. (Firefox-Version 82.0.3 (64-Bit)) After i did this Firefox seems to refuse to save any login data. I have set www.google.de as the starting page. Every time I open Firefox I first have to consent, that cookies are saved (Firefox also doesn't save this consent). Then my google accounts are not logged in. This problem is present on every page I have login data to (youtube, facebook etc.) I can login to all of this sites. But when I close Firefox for more then 5 seconds it all starts again. I have read and made all the steps from the mozilla support page but that doen't change anything. The problem keeps reappearing. Now I need your help please.

Are you possibly using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the browsing history ?

Firefox 82+ comes with a "Redirect Tracking Protection" feature to purge tracking cookies for websites that haven't been visited recently automatically, so if you clear the history then there are no visits and Firefox can clear cookies.

You can disable the feature to purge tracking cookies automatically via the about:config page.

  • privacy.purge_trackers.enabled = false

Another possibility is to make sure you do not use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the browsing history or otherwise clear the history as this feature currently uses recent history visits.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
