My web based email use to have a great function in that you can view all your email images as thumbnails so you could scan down and quickly pick out a treasured photo. Unfortunately, BT have now destroyed this option on their latest update.

Is there a way in Thunderbird that this action can be duplicated?

I do NOT want to go into every individual email, I have over 70,000! Just want a method to quickly skim my photo attachments...

re :view all your email images as a page of thumbnails? Only if had saved them in a file outside of Thunderbird eg: in your Documents or Images folder. Personally, I detach them as soon as I receive them and save in a suitable Images/Pictures folder. This has the benfit of allowing me to either delete the original email or at very least reduce the file size. It also means I do not accidentally lose images if there is aloss of email.

Attached image files are part of the email, so scanning through a load of emails and files would be inevitable.

You do not necessarilly have to go through every email you possess. You could make use of the filters. In a folder, you could use the Quick Filter Bar option to only show emails with attachments to reduce the number of emails. Or 'Find' > 'Search Message' on an entire account, where 'Attachment Status' 'is' 'Has Attachments' and if you have someone who tends to send images, then you could add a second condition like 'From' 'contains' and type email address. Then save as a search folder in the account so to allow you to scan through them like a normal folder. You can easily then edit the properties (right click on folder and select 'properties') of that saved search folder to search on a different email address to rebuild the search folder with a different set of emails.

I know it's not ideal, but it does refine the number of emails, so allowing you to work through them to save the images elsewhere and also consider the option to reduce file size by detaching once saved.

Thanks for your response, I thought as much.

Even using the 'attachment' filter, I have in excess of 4000 emails to look at LOL Simply impractical. Really annoying as before BT did their 'update' (i use the word loosely), all I had to do was hit the 'view photo' button and it simply collated every single photo on my account which I could scroll down. A few days ago I found a photo I knew I had from a friend which was sent 7 years ago, took me about 2 minutes to find it! I've had the account for 25 years now, oh well, no one died, but still, bl**dy annoying!
