I just took the Thunderbird update Version 78.2.2. Now my address book is missing all of my groups. I cannot figure out how to add more than one recipient to the "New improved" compose window. Wish I hadn't updated. Doesn't anyone test before releasing this crap?

Scott, do you still have the xxxx.mab.bak files in your Thunderbird profile?

more options

TB = thunderbird in new TB goto Help > Troubleshooting Info > about:profiles > write down the PATH/folder shown in the "Root" directory line. that is the new TB's "profile" folder.

your TB "PROFILE" is here: %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\

there you will see sub-folders like these, for-example: xxxxxxxx.default-bak xxxxxxxx.default-release etc (x in xxxxxxxx are random alpha-numeric characters/letters)

one of them is your old-TB's old profile folder, & one of them is your new TB's new profile folder.

then look for abook.mab.bak or abook.mab (address-book / Contacts-List) file inside both "profile" folder.

abook.mab can be used with v68 series TB . also in a second TB. v78 series TB converts the mab file into sqlite file, & uses it as abook.sqlite, v78 series cannot use mab file directly.

Whatever you do, do NOT destroy xxxx.mab.bak files in your Thunderbird profile, they will be needed by developers to determine why your addressbook is not working properly
