Slideclock comes up and (for me) no matter what I do it keeps cycling back and forth and nothing happens except confusion and more confusion. I can't get away from it... It's time vampire. I don't even know what it is.

What is Slideclock? An add-on?

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions.

The only thing I could find with that name is this :

https://lexon-design.com/en/product/slide-clock/

Which has nothing to do with Firefox .....

When you scroll down you'll see :

"Slide is an alarm clock that travels everywhere with you. "

In the thread I mentioned,   Andrew just posted something you could try as well :

I did some more searching and found out that   "slideclocks.com"   was founded only three weeks ago, and that the culprit behind all of this is   "cobalten.com".

See :

https://stuffgate.com/slideclocks.com

http://it-help.info/how-to/adwares/4529-how-to-remove-cobalten-com

You say that this is driving you bananas,   well I know what you mean, cause here it says:

"Cobalten.com cannot do anything well, as it is made to achieve a single purpose: to drive you crazy."

Also see   these search results   about how to remove   "cobalten.com".

I would also suggest to go to the 3-bar menu => Add-ons => Extensions;   if you see anthing there that you didn't install yourself :   please remove it.

You may also want to go to Windows Control Panel => Programs, and see if there is anything that looks suspicious.
