Is the problem that Firefox starts up without your data, just a plain vanilla installation?

Do you recall seeing any messages about a new profile?

Are you experiencing a situation where starting Firefox from its program shortcut and starting Firefox from a link in a different program give you a different experience, or are they both the exact same unpersonalized experience?
